GENEVA, Ohio -- A pair of Siena Heights men's track and field records fell on Friday during the NAIA Indoor Championships at the SPIRE Institute. Doug Dawson (Roseville, Mich./Roseville) re-set his 400-meter dash record while Logan Moore (South Gate, Mich./Anderson) set a new SHU record in the 60 hurdles.

Dawson won his heat and will be seeded No. 2 in the 400 final on Saturday. His new school-record time is :47.92.

Meanwhile, Moore ran the 60 hurdles twice Friday night, recording a time of 8.22 seconds in the preliminaries before finishing in a school-record 8.19 during the semifinals.

The 8.19-second finish nearly placed Moore in Saturday's 60 hurdle final, but he was beaten out by five hundred-thousandths, 8.19162 to 8.19167.

Also for the SHU men, Zach Widner (Detroit, Mich./Weston Prep) placed 10th in the 1,000 with a time of 2:31.90 while Jesiah Rodriguez (Erie, Mich./Erie Mason) took 17th in the mile with a 4:22.65.

In the weight throw, Ray Carney (Blissfield, Mich./Blissfield) finished 13th for the Saints with a toss of 56 feet, 5 3/4 inches (17.21 meters).

Calvin Sullins (Sand Creek, Mich.) added a 12th-place finish in the heptathlon with 4,777 points. He entered the day in fifth place.

On Friday, he tied for eighth in the 60 hurdles (8.63 seconds), placed 11th in the pole vault (12-11 3/4, 3.96m) and finished 16th in the 1,000 (3:11.09).

The NAIA Indoor Championships will wrap up on Saturday. Saints who are set to compete include Gauge Aebersold (Manitou, Mich./Onsted) in the shot put, Dawson in the 400 and the distance medley relay team.

The DMR squad, consisting of Rodriguez, Widner, Ryan McElyea (Flint, Mich./Carman Ainsworth) and Chase Every (Mason, Mich./Mason), broke a school record in preliminaries on Thursday -- a mark which stood since 1984.
