Established in 1982 as the Association of Mid-Continent Universities (AMCU)

Established in 1982 as the Association of Mid-Continent Universities (AMCU), the Mid-Continent Conference has endured changes in the highly-competitive world of collegiate athletics, standing today as a nationally-competitive and well-respected league. With a solid foundation of prominent members, the Mid-Con prides itself on providing quality athletic and academic experiences for its student-athletes. The Mid-Con enters its 18th year with nine NCAA Division-I institutions, located predominantly in the Midwest's top urban areas. Spanning seven states, the Mid-Con includes Chicago State University, IUPUI (Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis), UMKC (University of Missouri-Kansas City), Oakland University (Mich.), Oral Roberts University, Southern Utah University, Valparaiso University, Western Illinois University and Youngstown State University.
