  This year, we welcome the Second Annual Mini-Martian Marathon, which is a school wellness program promoting health and fitness to children and fighting obesity. Kids do a marathon over a period of 13 weeks and also have to read 13 books (half marathon) and eat 13 new healthful foods (half marathon) to qualify. They track their progress and, on race day, the Mini-Martians finish their marathon by running the last 1.2 miles with all of the marathoners. (5000 participants plus 2000 students) 10K will begin at 9:00 A.M. The kids run will begin at 11:00 A.M.
