This is the 10th annual Simsonian 5K, named in honor of beloved Grosse Ile High School teacher and coach, Steve Sims who died unexpectedly in 2003 of an aortic aneurysm. All proceeds from the race go to the Steve Sims Leadership Scholarship, awarded to an outstanding female scholar/athlete at GIHS.

This is a fast, flat course on beautiful Grosse Ile, finishing on the high school track. Awards are three deep in 12 age race categories. Medals, refreshments, DJ, and raffle follows the race.
