Out and back course on closed roads and some bike paths. Chipped by Classic Race Management. Age group awards (medals) and over all top three male/female awards- this race started as a school fundraiser and has grown each of the last four years. The course is moderately challenging with two small hills and one longer straight away. Excellent facilities featuring large heated lyceum/cafeteria, warm bathrooms, coffee for participants and supporters, food and water, and award ceremony. Later starting time of 10:00 AM to encourage people from even farther away. The race is named after the school mascot (the river rat) and actually runs by part of the Black River wetlands by Window on the Waterfront. Kids fun run prior to main event.
